Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created to honor Catherine McAulay Meek.
Catherine McAulay was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1920. She left school at age 14 to help support her family. As an intelligent woman who saw how her lack of education impacted her, she was determined that the same fate would not happen to her children. Many people in the neighborhood never finished basic schooling. And no one in her family had ever gone to college until her children did.

Criteria for the Scholarship
To become eligible for consideration of this annual award, a student from a homeless family must demonstrate through their grades and contributions a desire to serve their community and make the world a better, more peaceful place.  Scholarships are available for any purpose that will improve the life of a homeless child.

  • Be homeless, currently or at some time in their lives.
  • Want to improve their lives through education.
  • Demonstrate through their actions a desire to serve their community and make this a more peaceful planet.
