Academic Benchmarks

We have a printable list of academic benchmarks from K-7th Grade for reading, writing and math.

If you have an older student, please use the following links to view California State Benchmarks 7-12th Grade. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding these benchmarks and how they translate to your student.

These rubrics are only a guide. If your student is struggling with 4th grade math, for example, start where he/she is comfortable and go forward from there.

Reading is the most important gift you can give to your student. If your student is unable to read or read confidently, please ask your coordinator for tips and techniques to help your student with reading. Use our resource list to find websites that help with reading.

We have a lot of information about what to do with your student and how to help (forms and top tips) but most of the time, their teacher knows best.  If you get a chance to email or call your student's teacher, please let them know that you are their tutor and ask the teacher what you can do in your tutoring hour to help.
