Wheels
The school year may have ended, but your School on Wheels tutoring sessions can keep on rolling! Summer is the perfect time to provide positive mentorship and shrink the gaps in your student’s learning while serving as a consistent support system.
If students do not practice academic skills over the summer, they lose some of what they have recently learned. This is known as the “summer slide”. With Summer Fun on Wheels, you can help your students use the summer to grow their skills instead!
Our Summer Fun on Wheels program is designed to provide you with activities using a combination of social and emotional learning (SEL) and traditional academics like English Language Arts. Activity packets are designed to be completed in three sessions and adaptable to all grade levels!
To navigate the program follow these steps:
Step 1: During your next tutoring session, spend time together exploring the 8 social and emotional topics and accompanying activities to choose the one you will want to work on together.
Step 2: Fill out the enrollment form to choose your SEL topic.
Step 3: Check your email for a message from SEL@schoolonwheels.org with a link to your packet of activities.
Step 4: Complete the activities over your next 3 tutoring sessions.
Step 5: After completing the activities, fill out the summer completion form for your student to earn their $25 gift card!

Kindness & Happiness
Being kind can make you happy and when you are feeling happy you are more kind! This topic will help you explore what happiness and kindness mean to you.
Perseverance
Perseverance is continuing with something even when it is challenging or when we don’t succeed right away. Choose this topic if you’re ready for a challenge!
Community
Community can be anything connecting us to other people, where we belong and help others! It looks different for everyone… would you like to explore your communities?
Creativity
Creative students are conscientious, open to new experiences and can think of new ways to approach problems or challenges. There are infinite ways to express your creativity… try a few!
Decision-making
Our favorite games and biggest challenges place decisions in front of us. Will you decide on this topic?
