Please Note: You must attend the Introductory Tutor Training before attending this Advanced Training. If you have completed less than 6 tutoring sessions before this training, our team will help you reschedule for a future training.
What is the Advanced Training? This training is a collaborative space for volunteer tutors to discuss tips & tricks for enhancing communication, advocating on behalf of your student, and increasing student engagement and motivation. This is a chance to share your successes and challenges while listening to the experiences of other tutors. You’ll leave with inspiration and new ideas to bring to your tutoring sessions!
Who will be there? Each Advanced Training is facilitated by a School on Wheels program developer and volunteer coordinator to ensure you have support and a wealth of resources. You’ll also be joining the training with other volunteer tutors who might have a similar experience as you!
How do I join? Please sign up using the form below. We will send you a confirmation email with the Zoom link for the training after you register. Make sure to check your spam folder if you don’t see an email from us. Come prepared to participate in breakout groups and discussions. We ask that you have your webcam on for the entirety of the session and recommend using headphones if you have them.
Join us at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County for our 30th anniversary gala!
