On Friday, February 19 Kevin Bacon, the well-known musician and actor, stopped by our Skid Row Learning Center to hang out with our students, learn about our Digital Learning Program, and answer questions our students had about his life and success. We are inspired by the work he does at SixDegrees.org and hope he can drop by again soon!

The Center for Nonprofit Management featured our Backstage:Lakers episode on their website. They also highlighted the recent graduation of our Regional Director, Charles Evans, from their Nonprofit Leadership Development Program (NLDP).
Our Marketing Director, Sinead Chilton, was interviewed for the KIIS FM radio segment Community Council to talk about School on Wheels!
Yoomi Chin, a Ph.D. student at UCLA, has created a startup with a friend that offers an app that helps instructors take class attendance while also helping students keep track of course requirements and deadlines. But the app has a twist: The higher the class attendance, the larger the donation the startup makes to a nonprofit that helps homeless K-12 youth.
On December 23, School on Wheels was featured in a special on Backstage: Lakers. Our students were able to ice skate with the Laker girls, shoot hoops with Laker players, and take pictures with Kobe Bryant.
On December 21, School on Wheels hosted its annual holiday party for 230 homeless students for the 15th year in a row at Paradise Cove Cafe in Malibu, CA.
