School on Wheels recognized by the City of LA at Skid Row Learning Center reopening

We are so excited to announce that after a two-year hiatus, our Skid Row Learning Center is open again!

Since 2001, the Skid Row Learning Center has always been a safe space for children experiencing homelessness of all ages in and around the Skid Row area.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the reopening on August 12, and a huge thank you to Councilmember Kevin De Leon and Christopher Antonelli, Downtown Area Director for District 14, for presenting School on Wheels with a City of Los Angeles Certificate of Commendation in recognition of the center.

The center would not have been able to open without the support of School on Wheels Ambassador Rima Fakih and her team, who helped renovate, decorate and furnish the center for the start of the new school year. And then throw a huge party for students and their parents. Check out the photos of the new space.
