Rowdy – Grade 1
What is your favorite part of meeting with your tutor?
Rowdy told me his favorite part of meeting each week is going over the feelings charter, because he likes to tell his feelings. He feels happy when he goes to tutoring because he likes to get smarter and play building games. He likes to get smarter, because when he is sad, he can learn ways to not be sad. And it’s fun to learn new things and get better at reading and math.
Adding context that we often play Tower Builders on PBS KIDS, and he really enjoys playing this game together, hence why he mentioned the building games.
What hopes and dreams do you have for the future?
Rowdy would like to be a YouTuber. He would like to make YouTube videos about how to play games and also be a streamer who streams playing games with others. He said it’s fun because you get lots of views and people comment nice things, which makes you happier. He wants to teach people how to make the best choices in the game. He would also like to teach math and reading to people on YouTube because then they can get smarter.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Nice. Kind. Happy.
Who inspires you and why?
Rowdy said his family and his tutor inspire him because they make him happy. His family hugs him. They make him have more confidence, and sometimes they make him laugh. His tutor inspires him because we read books together and learn about new feelings. When he wants to search up new things, we can search for those together.
What is your favorite subject and why?
Rowdy’s favorite subject is reading. He also feels excited about learning Spanish, since he doesn’t know that much right now. He likes the teacher that he goes to because she teaches math, reading, and Spanish. He likes to learn songs in Spanish.

What is your favorite part of meeting with your tutor?
He teaches me new things, and explain things when I can’t understand well.
What hopes and dreams do you have for the future?
I want to be good at what I love

Who inspires you and why?
My mom because she is very strong and takes care of me every day

I love playing chess with him

I will be happy with my family
